What does it mean if my battery light turns on when in idle, parked, or slowly accelerating?
Whenever I turn my car on, or leave it in park(idle)
the Battery light turns on, and the steering wheel is hard to turn either way. also, upon accelerating, the light will start to go off, and a LOUD screeching noise come's about. I've had it checked but they said it's the "idler pulley" or something like that, but they never said why the Battery light occasionally come's on. Any ideas? or way's to go about this problem?
The screeching is from your alternator pulley slipping. Either your belt is loose, your battery is almost dead (and takes too much power to spin the alternator to charge it), or your alternator has a bad regulator in it.
If your battery is more than 3 years old, take it to a Autozone or walmart to have it tested.
How To React When the Battery Light Is on
