Safety tips for girl walking through city alone at night?
It's a safe city that's quite well lit and there's normal plenty of people around, but what tips can you offer just to make sure that I'm prepared for the worst?
I have late night lectures and am too young to drive and my parents work late nights. no one in my course goes home the same way that I do. i walk to get to my bus stop, which is the closest available one, but still a 20 minute walk.
I have the same situation at work... I have to walk 3 blocks to get to my car and it's usually 1:00 am and the town is a little bad at night.
My boyfriend bought me some pepper spray, so I carry that in my left hand and my keys poking out from between my fingers in my right hand, forming a fist so I can slash someone's face open if they try anything.
Walk briskly, stick to brighter areas, stay alert. DO NOT TALK ON YOUR CELL WHILE WALKING!! That distracts you from possible threats.
No shortcuts through alleys. That's just creepy.
Be able to scream loudly. If someone does come at you, go for the groin and the eyes. Use your thumb and push on their eyelid really hard. Also use the place on your palm where it connects to your wrist to jab in an upwards motion at the bottom of their nose. It makes their eyes water.
Be careful and suspicious. Don't trust anyone.
