why doesn't glow stick light affect other unlit but working glow sticks?
I recently bought a whole jar full of BB's that glow in the dark and got me to thinking why doesn't the light from bright effect dark ones. Same with the glow sticks.
For glow sticks, the light comes from a chemical reaction. Outside light doesn't charge them.
For the BBs, they are activated by light. The light excites electrons into a higher orbit, then, they will jump down to their original level. When they do this, light is released.
The light is not energetic enough to charge another BB.
